Carebus has been a transport lifeline for elderly, disabled, isolated & vulnerable people in the Eastern parishes of West Berkshire* for five decades. Carebus also provides affordable minibus transport for community groups throughout the area.
Volunteers driving a Carebus wheelchair accessible car, or a private car, offer a service to individuals to travel for medical care, therapy, cultural, family, shopping or leisure activities where other forms of transport are impractical, unsuitable, non-existent, or unaffordable.
Carebus also has two volunteer-driven minbuses available to take a wide range of community, social, or family groups to a variety of destinations including theatres, garden centres, museums, seaside and other days out. The vehicles are equipped with wheelchair lifts, and can accommodate up to 12 passengers.
All four Carebus vehicles can safely accommodate those who need to travel in their own wheelchairs rather than a regular seat.
*principal areas served with one or more Carebus services include: Aldworth; Ashampstead; Basildon; Beenham; Bradfield; Bucklebury; Calcot; Chapel Row; Englefield; Fords Farm; Holybrook; Pangbourne; Purley; Stanford Dingley; Streatley; Sulham; Theale; Tidmarsh; Tilehurst; Tutts Clump; Woolhampton; Yattendon
