Comfortable private cars owned and driven by volunteer drivers are the ideal way for individuals to attend hospital or doctor’s appointments, visit family members, or simply get to the shops.
The service is only available to elderly, vulnerable, disabled or isolated people where no alternative transport option – such as bus, taxi, or family vehicle – is available, accessible, or affordable.
A contribution towards running costs of 60p per mile is requested, additional donations are always welcome. Drivers give their time freely; if our volunteer has a significant wait for your return journey or is with you over lunchtime, he or she would appreciate the offer of a coffee or a sandwich if you feel it appropriate
